Service Description

Operates self-managed transitional housing for men, women and couples without children.
Provides single and double rooms with bathrooms and phones for local calls. Meals are provided daily for residents.
Offers the following support services:
- Free housing application assistance
- Dental and optical care
- Counseling
- Substance abuse counseling
- Employment assistance
- Computer lab

All residents must save between $10 to $80 per week (depending on income), which is verified monthly by a committee of residents. Savings are to support ongoing housing stability after clients have completed the program.
All residents must also participate in 15 hours per week of in-house work, including program governance and maintenance.
Lengths of stay vary, limited to two years.

Eligibility


Single men, single women and couples without children.
Accepts both co-ed and same-sex couples. Applicants must be working or have an income.
Sobriety required on the premises.
No alcohol, drugs, weapons or violent behavior are permitted.
Former residents may reapply to the program.
Does not accept sex offenders. Other criminal history is reviewed on a case-by-case basis and does not automatically disqualify you from the program.
Performs background check.

Call for the current location where applications are being accepted.
Applications are available in English and in Spanish.
Completed applications are reviewed and then eligible candidates are interviewed by current Aloha Residents' Screening Committee.
Applications are NOT available at Aloha Inn.

Fees


Rent is $5 to $10 per week, depending on income, plus required savings for housing.
